Dawang, Zhaoqing—a thriving industrial hub in the Pearl River Delta, home to numerous manufacturing parks and enterprises—relies on Ramada Hotel Dawang as its core hospitality landmark. As a well-known mid-to-high-end international hotel under Wyndham Group, it serves a unique mix of guests: corporate executives from nearby industrial parks, government and business delegations, local families for celebrations, and short-distance travelers exploring Zhaoqing’s natural and cultural attractions. When Dushang Hotel Furniture Factory partnered with this hotel, we focused on solving a key challenge: creating furniture that adapts to the hotel’s dual role as an industrial hub business venue and a local hospitality destination.
Unlike coastal resorts, urban luxury hotels or academic properties, this project’s core lies in “industrial supporting practicality” and “local cultural integration.” Dawang’s industrial atmosphere demands furniture that is sturdy, low-maintenance, and suitable for high-frequency business receptions, while Zhaoqing’s rich Lingnan culture requires subtle, tasteful design elements that reflect the city’s identity—avoiding both overly rigid business styles and overly decorative leisure designs.
A key focus was balancing business formality with local warmth. We rejected generic hotel furniture templates and tailored designs to the hotel’s daily scenarios. For business areas—including conference rooms, executive lounges, and business guest rooms—we prioritized functionality and professionalism: modular conference tables that can be rearranged for large meetings or small negotiations, ergonomic office chairs with lumbar support for long working sessions, and guest room workstations with ample space for laptops and documents, plus built-in charging ports for convenience.
For areas catering to local families and leisure guests—such as the hotel’s restaurant, lobby, and family rooms—we integrated subtle Lingnan cultural elements. We used warm wood tones reminiscent of Zhaoqing’s traditional architecture, and added delicate carvings inspired by local bamboo and osmanthus (a symbol of Zhaoqing) on table edges and chair backs—subtle enough to avoid kitsch, but distinct enough to reflect local identity. Upholstery fabrics were chosen in soft, warm tones (light brown, beige, and light green) that create a welcoming atmosphere for family gatherings and local banquets.
Material selection was driven by the hotel’s high-traffic, multi-scenario usage. We chose high-density engineered wood with a scratch-resistant finish, ensuring furniture can withstand the wear and tear of frequent business receptions and family events. Upholstery fabrics were selected for stain resistance and easy cleaning—critical for a hotel that hosts local banquets and industrial team dinners. We also optimized the furniture’s weight and structure to facilitate quick rearrangement of public spaces, supporting the hotel’s efficient operation.
Collaboration with the hotel’s management was integral. They shared insights into local hospitality habits—such as the preference for larger dining tables for family gatherings and the need for durable, easy-to-clean furniture in high-traffic areas. We also adjusted our production and delivery schedule to align with the hotel’s opening timeline, ensuring furniture was installed on time to support the industrial hub’s business reception needs. The final result is furniture that not only meets the hotel’s practical operational requirements but also bridges industrial formality with local warmth.
This partnership with Ramada Hotel Dawang showcases Dushang’s ability to tailor solutions for industrial hub hotels— a niche yet vital segment of the hospitality industry. For Dushang, this project reinforces our commitment to understanding the unique needs of each location, delivering furniture that supports efficient operations, reflects local culture, and enhances the guest experience, all while upholding the high standards of international hotel brands like Ramada.
